Chapter 1: New Beginnings Our little story begins three months after the Gods War, which over took the Land of Marrowin. In which the forces of a band of hero's accompanied by the Human armies of Marrowin, Villenia, and the Elven armies of Veridian banded together to fight the undead and demonic hoards of westarn in a power struggle led by Zerath the Unholy Litch and Orcus the Demon lord from the Ninth Layer of the Abyss. The War raged for days on end, causing the casualties of Richard Del'lemorte King of Villenia and Elizabeth Writhright Queen of Morrowin. The Hero's distraught by the loss of one of their companions, Richard, helped a group of twelve clerics put together a Ritual to call down the god of St. Cuthbert, Using his Original Holy Symbol, an artifact first made by the hands of Cuthbert himself, pieced together by the Hero's. The twelve clerics led by a Kitsune called forth the powers of Cuthbert, who responded to them by sending his greatest weapon against Orcus, his Avatar. The Avatar of St. Cuthbert then with a raise of his sword Resurrected the field of Fallen Soldiers and helped them, along with the revived King and Queen, over run the forces of Orcus and Zerath, winning the day. After the battle the world was still in peril from a Disease brought on by persons unknown, but, most blamed the Litch Zerath, as the disease named "Recluse" ate the victim from the inside out. So with his sword raised, the final act of the Avarar was to banish the disease, and in a wall of light that went around the entire world of Berencia, "Recluse" was wiped from its face, and the avatar in a brilliant exit, disappeared. The Hero's when people looked for them, where no where to be found after the battle, as if they had been grabbed by the light itself and used to power the avatars spell. No one, not the king and queen of Villenia, nor the Hero's or the Kitsune remained. To this day, they are still missing. However, life in the quaint world moved on, how ever a storm is arising, as the kingdom of Villenias new King who married the Daughter of the former King and Queen, has sealed off the boarders and has allowed no one to travel in or out. Our little story how ever begins across the world, to the land of Zanark, in the hillsides of Demothis. Where the city of Arathor lay. Here in the territory of the Dwarven House of Meallan, we find a Viking man, named Uthbert getting ready to start his journey into an unknown world.

Uthbert after saying good bye to friends and family started out on his adventure into this strange new world. And only an hour after he left his little town on the side of a mountain, the sounds of battle caught his ear, upon approach to the battle there over the crest of the hill was a Bugbear about to engage a woodland worshiper. After a fierce battle with the creature and it slain by a mighty cleave of Uthberts Dwarven Waraxe, the Woodland worshiper, now known to the Viking as Gladiun, stood there making small talk and introductions before Gladiuns wolf turned its ears and head towards the near by bushes. Then as they prepared for the next battle which they thought was going to come from the bushes before them Thunder rippled through the air, though not a cloud spot the sunny sky. Upon investigation further into the forest, Uthbert, the wolf, and Gladiun came upon a man wielding a bastard sword in one hand, a shield in the other wearing a chainmail shirt and matching armored kilt surrounded by three goblins. Drawing his Bow Gladiun took a shot after Uthbert threw one of this throwing axes, killing one. The wolf charged in next missing the goblin completely, The man who's lightning cacked off as he swung his sword downward crackling into the gobling as he cleaved it in two, the remaining goblin then with a power strike impaled the man with its short sword, the man looking at the goblin caughing a little pointed a finger at the little thing and spoke the words "bang", sending a bolt of energy into the creature forcing it back and its death. Upon further introductions of the entirety of the party, the newest person to join being Gunner, and a comment or two about him being a witch, they pressed forward together.. Specially after Uthbert's hasty departure and eagerness to begin his tale. The other two followed in his wake making small talk till night fell, upon setting up camp, and Gladiun finishing his hunting retrieving two Rabbits, something flew over head that only Gladiun could see, a dragon, and with him and his knowledge's, he deduced what it possibly could be. A mythical folk lore dragon by the name of Demth, the Bringer-of-Ashes. A dragon so fierce, and so terrifying that it is either you live and have tales and become a king or queen or you die a most horrid death. When the party fell asleep and the watches were set after the tale had been told it was a quiet night. But then in the clearing Galdiun upon his watch saw a most greatest of creatures, a Male Onyx dear, this creature stood from hoof to head maybe eight feet tall with antlers as wide as a human was tall. Galdiun then tried to approach and talk to the animal in its native tongue, Silvan. Which failed catastrophically as the deer saw him as a threat, and charged goring Galdiun with its massive antlers, sending the man back, and the fight was on, which ended with Uthbert Decapitating the Onyx dear. And finally as the party settled back down for bed with final words, their story continues forward, unknown to them, the prayers of Galdiun had been heard, and his god was over watching them and their actions while in the forest, maybe even providing better rest and protection guiding the magical beasts that they allowed in the forest away from the party. On the other side of the world, the storm that was brewing intensifies as the word of people disappearing from near by Kingdom of Maria, most are blaming the closed off state of Vallenia. It's a harsh reality, as the people who are now allowed to exit the closed off kingdom are, in a way changed, or that is the rumor at least. What foulness is afoot in the world, and will our party be able to discover its secerets before it's too late.........

it had been a the least six or more weeks sense the party left the small village of Arathor, the party had successfully traveled to the next city of Margrath, which held the great stone gates of Mathiar the First King of the the Dwarfs, who's face is etched into the stone doors which tower over the city which is literally etched in to the side of the mountain. The doors guard the pass in to Marrowin, and are only open every other month. The party had settled in for the time being biding their time and doing jobs (5 Gold Earned (this is minus expenses)), weather it be mercenary work or academic. They did odds and ends and learned more then the usual amount of information. This includes the shady dealings in Berencia, as well as the Templar Chantry in Marrowin separating itself from the Countries control and becoming its own entity. For those who dont know what a Templar is, they are the police of the mage world. Their soul goal is to train warriors who kill mages, each Templar becoming eventually immune to a type of magic. Marrowin has laws and regulations involving magic, and for those who listen to the ones getting ready to cross over into Marrowin, one must procure a license in order to cast. these stringent laws were put in place after the Devastating Gods War. Magic is just like using a weapon to them, if it's in self defense, then you're okay. Other wise, normally the Templar's are involved. And the mage... well the mage in question is usually stripped of their magic either for a time or for the worst offenders, permanently. (Yes the casters have procured a license if they want). There is a lot of Political Flare up now over the Templar separation. What sort of welcome will the party get, what lays beyond the stone doors and pathway into morrowin.... soon they will find out... ~Party Receives5 gold per party member (Monthly wages for jobs done minus expenses) 2 Liscenses for magic use in Marrowin ~Party MayWrite in their journal again making up what they have done to pass the time, this is optional ~DATE20th, Deaths Moon, 1016

Actually Richard was slain in the battle, Drogon used a miracle spell to call down St Cuthbert. not 12 clerics.
you say in that text above richard was a casulty but then he gathered 12 clerics for a ritual, so why has Drogon been cut out of the story here?
